The renewed focus on non-opioid pain management at the highest levels of U.S. health policy reflects a hard truth: for many patients, opioid addiction begins in the hospital. During the first days after major orthopedic surgery, high doses of opioids remain the standard of care, despite the well-documented risks of dependence. If we want to address opioid addiction structurally, postoperative pain management must be part of the solution.

At SentryX, we are developing a new category of surgical pain blockers based on ILA-technology (implantable local anesthetic), designed to treat pain directly at its source during those critical first days. Our Phase 1b clinical results show what this approach can deliver: a 49% reduction in pain scores and a 42% reduction in opioid use compared with controls.
