March 2026 - National spotlight on severe pain after surgery: SentryX featured in De Telegraaf
We are proud to have been featured in De Telegraaf, the Netherlands' largest daily newspaper, in an article bringing national attention to a growing, but often overlooked, issue in healthcare: severe pain after surgery:

Pain after surgery is not just a matter of comfort. In major orthopaedic procedures, the first days after surgery often determine whether patients can mobilize, recover well, and return home. Yet pain treatment during that window still too often relies on opioids, which can delay recovery and create risks that extend far beyond the hospital. Recent Dutch data in joint replacement surgery show a clear rise in postoperative opioid use over the past decade, underlining that this is not a problem the Netherlands is immune to.
At SentryX, we are developing surgical pain blockers, a new category of non-opioid pain treatment after surgery. Our ILA-technology (implantable local anesthetic) is designed to relieve pain where it starts: at the surgical site itself. Our first product, currently in development for lower back/spine fixation surgery, provides pain relief for more than 72 hours without changing the surgical procedure.
We are encouraged to see growing attention for this issue, and proud to contribute to a broader conversation on how pain after surgery can be treated differently.
With thanks to Klaartje Bax for covering the story.
