1.2 million low back surgeries take place each year in Europe and the US. The first days after surgery are still dominated by opioids, despite the well-documented side effects and the risk of long-term use. And a new category of treatment, surgical pain blockers, based on our ILA-technology (implantable local anesthetic), is being developed to change exactly that.
